Company description:: Jonesboro, GA -January 15, 2004 - Using the Power of the Internet to raise small sums of money from thousands of potential donors, a new Internet based organization called Making Ends Meet announced that it hopes to raise funds to help single working mothers nationwide in need of financial assistance with the basic needs of life (e.g. rent, daycare, utilities, car repairs, extra-curricular activities for children, tutoring, etc.) Mini-Grants will be distributed to single working mothers in the range of $300-$800. Making Ends Meet said the fund will be primarily financed by $5 donations given over the Internet.
Did you know that the number of single mothers increased from three million to 10 million between 1970 and 2000, and that one in two children will live in a single-parent family at some point in childhood.
If you have been blessed by a reasonably good standard of living, then Making Ends Meet hopes you consider sending them a $5 donation. Of course they would accept more, but their goal is based upon this modest request, with hopes that you will get two more friends to also donate $5. Their goal is to raise $5 million to fund this project. Corporate sponsorship is available, and if you have no money to give, you should know that volunteers are also needed. There is also information there on how to apply for assistance if you are in need of help for small things. Assistance is granted based upon financial need.
