Company description:: Many school districts, camps and park/recreation groups face the challenge of raising private funds to pay for a new playground, but are frustrated by what fundraising efforts will be effective.
Childscapes, a family-owned full service commercial playground designer and installer, is running a contest for the best and worst playground fundraising ideas from groups and individuals. Seeking to improve fundraising efforts, the FUN-draising primer will include all entries submitted before August 1st, 2004.
THE FUNDS COME FIRST
“One of the first questions we hear from parenting groups and municipalities is, ‘What should we do to raise the funds for our community project?’” says Childscapes CEO Bill Eckhardt. “At Childscapes,” he continues, “We continually push the limits of imagination and challenges to physical ability. So we hope this contest will probe the limits of fundraising ingenuity.”
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
An average community recreation set can cost between 30 and 50 thousand dollars depending mainly on the desired surfacing. Tried fundraising ideas both good and bad are welcomed in the following categories: 1) most successful campaign; 2) least successful campaign; 3) highest community participation; 4) most creative campaign; 5) best ways to get kids involved.
